What a big win for the Women's Basketball team Thursday night, knocking off Marshall to clinch a top-four spot in the CUSA Tournament and a first round bye. I didn't realize until this morning, the win also means we'll finish no lower than a second place tie, however our seeding could range from two to four. This was one of the better coaching jobs I've seen in 15 years of broadcasting. The Tigers only dressed seven players and one had only played two minutes all season. Coach McFerrin had a great game plan and the players did a tremendous job of executing it. I hope to see all of you at FedExForum tommorrow afternoon a 1:00 when we face East Carolina. This will be a great opportunity for the fans to show their appreciation of what this team has accomplished this year, with hopefully more to come.

Just taking a quick break from prepping for two big home games this week (Thursday vs. Marshall at the Fieldhouse and Saturday at 1 p.m. vs. East Carolina at FedExForum) and wanted to pass along some congratulations for a couple of Tigers.

What a great weekend for the baseball and women's basketball.
Baseball opened FedExPark with a series split over #38 Middle Tennessee, the weather was great for the first two games and the Tiger fans responded with two good crowds. I've heard nothing but good things from everyone who was able to go. I went out Sunday to watch, but apparently brought rain and lightning with me, the game was called in the fourth. Thanks again to Andrew Vandeventer for filling in on the broadcast while I was out, he'll be back in a few weeks.

Great win today! All around team effort, utilizing every aspect of the game. Another solid pitching performance, clutch hits, awesome defense (minus my error), bunting in key situations, throwing out runners, and NEVER GIVING IN!

We couldn't have asked for better pitching performances from our pitchers today. Vanessa, Lauren, and Carly combined for 13 K's and delivered solid performances.

On the road today leaving for the big battle with Tulane tommorrow night in New Orleans. In my seven years as  the Voice of Womens' Basketball, this will be the biggest regular season game I've called. The two first place teams face off with just four games left after.

This weekend will be a big one for the Tiger baseball team as they will play their first three games at FedExPark. The three-game series will be against a very good Middle Tennessee program, so bundle up and come out to FedExPark for Friday's first pitch at 4 p.m.

Quote of the day came from Maddie (in her good ole' country Chickamauga accent) as we circled up to pray before the start of Game #1. "Dear God, please prepare Wichita for a buuuuutt whippin'!" It was priceless!

The time has finally come! We are ready to kick off the 2010 season with a few victories in Shreveport, La. All the hard work, long practices, sweat, pain and fatigue will all pay off as we start our journey to a Conference USA Championship.

Busy time of the year for me coming up. I'm about to have men's and women's basketball overlap with baseball. Looking foward to it, because I usually get to call several games within a week.
