Tough three games this weekend. Timely hits and solid pitching performances by East Carolina proved to be enough to steal three games from us this weekend. We didn't go down without a fight, though. We had some good at bats and recorded several good hits, but couldn't quite figure out how to push runs across the board when we needed to.
Our pitching performances were solid all weekend. All four of our pitchers had appearances this weekend and gave great performances. Coach had a good game plan going into Sunday's game. Each time through the lineup we switched pitchers in an attempt to keep their hitters off balance. It worked. Our pitching staff held ECU to only three hits, but unfortunately one of those hits scored a run in the first inning. They were scoreless the rest of the game, but we never answered back.
Two Tigers played their last regular season home game today. Senior Day 2010 honored Leigh Rowan and Vanessa Walle. Both have been huge contributors to our team this year and an awesome pair of senior leaders.
With the regular season behind us, we are ready to make a run at a conference championship. Everything up to this point has been in preparation for three conference tournament wins. With three wins we are conference Champions and live to play another week. Taking one game at a time is going to be the key to our success in the tournament.
We start off the tournament with Tulsa. We played them well during regular season play and are in a good spot to knock out one of the top seeds in the tournament. From there, we just keep knocking out whoever comes our way! This is where we lay everything on the line knowing that we have worked hard all season to get ourselves to this point. Now we just relax and have fun! Go Tigers!
