Well, we wrapped up our first season at FedExPark last night with a win over Murray State. It was a really nice year in the inaugural season at the newly renovated facility. Again, a big thanks to FedEx for the gift. A lot of what was done could not be seen by the general public, but it was really nice for the players to be able to go directly from their dugout to the locker-room and the team was able to train on site in the new turf room.
Obviously, my favorite part was the new press-box and specifically the radio booths. I no longer had to cram in to do a broadcast and fight for counter space, it really makes a big difference when you've got your own space. Most importantly, the team went 17-10 in FedExPark, and it's always key to win your home games. Our attendance grew and hopefully as the team improves and word spreads about the new place, we'll start filling up the grand-stand on a regular basis.
The team heads off to Norman, Oklahoma today for a three game series against the Oklahoma Sooners who are currently 14 in the country. Should be a challenge, but our real opponent may be the weather. They're calling for thunderstorms most of the weekend, so hopefully we can find some time to get the games in.
(Tammy's note: You can listen to Jeff's call of the entire Oklahoma series for FREE from our website at www.gotigersgo.com. Go to the baseball page and the schedule and you will see a Listen Here link.)
