July 2010 Archives

Well, it's official--we're seniors! It seems like just yesterday we were incoming freshmen and now we're entering our last year. Since our freshman year we've been breaking records and winning C-USA Championships, but this year there is an even greater task at hand. With every team in the conference gunning for us, we're out to win it again, but not just stop there.

TIGER FANS: The 4th Cloud

Off days are wonderful! No baseball activities whatsoever, with the exception of the hour-and-a-half I spend at the local Best Buy playing MLB 2K10 and any other games they have for my enjoyment. If only they had Call of Duty online set up in there. I don't know if I would leave the store! Lunch is usually at Chick-Fil-A, where I get two of those delicious new spicy chicken sandwiches and a cookies and cream shake to balance the sizzle. I d

In the quest to fill my spare time in the summer, I decided to check in on how our Tiger Baseball Pros are doing, here is the list. Also hope you check out Brennon Martin's blog (located here), great to hear from him in his first year with the Royals organization.

TIGER FANS:

Welcome to Surprise, AZ, the sixth fastest growing city in Arizona. It's is located 20 miles northwest of Phoenix and about four hours and 49 minutes away from Vegas... but who's counting. Surprise is the spring training home of the Kansas City Royals, as well as the home of one of KC's four rookie teams, the AZL Royals. My name is Brennon Martin and I was a 4-year starting pitcher for the U of M who was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to play the sport that I love at its highest level.

We are starting a new blog in order to follow up with our former Tigers to see how they are progressing in their respective professional leagues. Men's tennis player Amrit Narasimhan (2006-2008) wrote our first entry about his trip to Asia to train and compete in a couple of Futures tournaments.

Checking in with you this summer. We're getting great news about our latest baseball pro's. Ryan Fraser and Brennon Martin are doing very well. Congrats to both for being drafted as well as Drew Martinez, looks like Drew will be returning for his junior year. There are updates for our summer wood-bat league players on the baseball page of the website (www.gotigersgo).
