We have so much going on right now, I don't know where to start. The team will participate in Memphis Madness festivities again this year on Friday, October 15th, at FedExForum. Unlike past seasons, that will not be the team's first day of practice though. The first day of practice is actually going to be Tuesday, October 5th. The new NCAA rule for women's basketball is they can use 30 practice sessions in the 40 days leading up to their first regular season game, which technically would be Monday, October 4th, but we'll get our start on Tuesday the 5th.
If you want to get a sneak peek at the Tigers, you can see the team at Memphis Madness, or you can join the Fast Break Club (our official booster club) and you will be invited to a FBC members-only practice, which is followed by a dinner with the team at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. The Fast Break Club has been retooled this year, where different levels of supporters receive different benefits, including a shirt, pre-game chalk talks with the coaching staff, a Melissa McFerrin autographed basketball, an invitation to pre-game meals, seats on charter flights and guest coaching opportunities, as well as other benefits. For complete details, see www.CoachMcFerrin.com and select Camps/Events. The Fast Break Club brochure is also available here.
We have a bunch of returnees for the Tigers this year. If you didn't get a chance to see some of the Get to Know videos we shot for Memphis Tiger Vision this summer, check it out here. Our get to know videos are free to view, but you may need to create a log in for the account. This Memphis Tiger Vision portal was revamped over the summer and will be where you can view the live streaming of all of our University of Memphis home games, as well as C-USA road games. You can also listen to live streaming audio of all Memphis Tiger women's basketball games through this portal. A subscription is required to view the streamed games, and costs just $9.95 a month, but as you'll see from looking at last year's stuff, we load our video and TV coaches shows on here, load our radio coach's shows and now that we have added flip cams to our repertoire, we'll have some fun, behind-the-scenes type stuff to add as well.
And for those of you active in the social media world, we also have a Memphis Women's Basketball Facebook Page and a Twitter account. You can get either by clicking on the buttons below:
