Unfortunately for fans, NCAA rules do not allow anyone outside the team to be in the gym for a closed scrimmage, so Tiger fans will have to come to the gym on Sunday to get a first look at the team when cross-town foe Christian Brothers comes to the Elma Roane Fieldhouse for a 2 p.m. tip. Like the Tigers' first regular season opponent, CBU has a new head coach and will have a re-energized team that will look to upend the Tigers on their home floor. Sarah Condra is in her first season as the head coach at CBU after spending the past year as an assistant at CBU. Condra is CBU's all-time leading scorer and as a player, helped CBU to a Gulf South Conference West Division title and the school's first-ever NCAA Division II Regional berth in her senior season. Her team is picked to finish 7th in the West in the GSC standings, but returns five seniors and a lot of experience.
As always, Jeff Brightwell will have the play-by-play call for the Sunday exhibition game. You can listen to the game on WUMR, 91.7 FM and fans outside of WUMR's listening area can watch live streaming video with Brightwell's audio call through an All-Access subscription on www.gotigersgo.com. All of Memphis' home games will be streamed live on the internet and all the Tigers' C-USA road games will also be shown online for All-Access subscribers.
