The non-conference portion of our Women's Basketball season is done and we've finished at 11-3. The team is off to its best start in over a decade, but I still don't believe we've peaked yet, which is good.

The Tigers have reached several milestones so far, other than the 11-3 record, the eight-game winning streak is the longest in over a decade and the 18-game winning streak at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse is the second-longest of all time, trailing the record of 31 set in the late 1970's.

This team has a few more weapons than last year's team, so it's taken some of the heat off of Brittany Carter. Savannah Ellis is as consistent as ever, Nicole Dickson is coming around, and Jasmine Lee has added several double-doubles.

Following the Kansas loss on Thanksgiving weekend, the defense has since stepped up, and is now second in C-USA in allowing the fewest points per game.

C-USA play starts on Thursday against Marshall, who has always been tough for the Tigers. We'll be back at FedExForum at 7:00, so I hope I get to see you out there. We won't sneak up on anyone this season; we were expected to be a competitor for the league, so the Tigers will have to bring their best every game.

Also, with the men back on their normal Saturday rotation this weekend, the Melissa McFerrin radio show will air either before or after the men's broadcast on WREC 600AM pending the tip-off time for the men.
