Hey Tiger fans,

Just a quick note to let you know we are changing our blog formats and while we are learning how to use the new setup and all the great new tools it gives us, we are a little behind on updating our blogs. Please be patient with us as we are one of the earlier schools to do this through our web host and we all have some kinks to work out and figure out.

C-USA Football Players Visit St. Jude

| No TrackBacks

As part of Conference USA's community service effort, players who were in Memphis for Media Day this weekend had a very informative tour of St. Jude Children's Research hospital Monday morning. Clinton McDonald and Maurice Jones represented the Tigers as the group gathered outside at 9 a.m. and spent just over two hours at the facility. We all toured the various patient areas and also learned quite a bit on the lab floor about Parkinson's disease and the Bird Flu. The end of our tour was the most memorable as we met a little seven-year-old boy who was in his third battle with cancer in his short life time. The tour hit home a little more for those of us associated with the Tiger program knowing how lucky Stacy Jones was to have been treated in this amazing hospital a year ago. You could tell that there is so much thought that goes into not just treating the patients, but in making them feel as comfortable as possible while they battle the various diseases they are there for.

It's a great time to be a Tiger and a lot of people are checking in to learn about U of M Athletics at www.GoTigersGo.com. We just received our monthly traffic report for February and we topped 1 million hits that month. That was a 111-percent increase from last February! Since 1999, we have only hit 1 million page views two other times - in November of 2003 and in September of 2004.

We also had over 175,000 unique visitors to the site in February. A unique visitor is counted only one time per month, no matter how many times they go to our site, so that is pretty impressive.

We currently rank 30th out of 220 schools around the country that are with CSTV's web company in web traffic, and we also now rank fifth out of those schools in online store revenue, just behind Kansas, North Carolina, USC and Notre Dame. Way to support your Tigers!
