DALLAS - The University of Memphis had 36 student-athletes named as recipients of the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal it was announced by the league office, Wednesday. The 36 is the second-highest total in all of Conference USA, behind Tulsa, who had a league-high 47 medalists named. East Carolina had 34 medalists on the list.
This is the second straight year Memphis has had over 30 medalists, the first time in school history that has happened. The Tigers are coming off a record-setting 38 medalists from last season.
In all, the league had 321 student-athletes earn medals for having a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher heading in to the spring semester.
