Athletics Communications Recognized by CoSIDA
June 24, 2014
Designed by Athletics Communications Assistant Director Brandon Kolditz, four University of Memphis publications received Best Cover in the Nation recognition by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The publications were judged as part of CoSIDA’s annual publications contest.
Memphis was one of just seven Division I athletic programs to receive four or more publication awards joining Kansas (12), Notre Dame (9), Oklahoma (9), Alabama (8), Kansas State (6) and West Virginia (5). Only Notre Dame (6) had more Best in the Nation honors than the University of Memphis.
The University of Memphis’ Men’s Soccer Guide, Spring at Large Guide (Women’s Golf), Rifle Guide and Cross Country Guide all received “Best in the Nation” recognition for their covers. The University of Memphis’ 2013-14 publications were produced with a common theme of “We Are Memphis” as the university played its inaugural season in the American Athletic Conference.
The University of Memphis has received a total of 14 “Best in the Nation” awards over the last five years.
“I am honored to be a part of an office staff which has such a dedication to publicizing and promoting our student-athletes,” said Ron Mears, assistant athletics director for athletics communications. “Brandon Kolditz epitomizes that commitment and I am proud to see his creativity and work acknowledged by our colleagues in athletics communications.”
