Five more University of Memphis student-athletes will complete their degrees as part of the class of 2013-14 on Sunday in Commencement Activities hosted at FedExForum, Sunday.
Sunday’s commencement activity will be held at 3 p.m., with doors to FedExForum opening at 2 p.m. Admission is free, but parking in the attached garage is available for $5.00 per vehicle for the event. Additional downtown parking can be found on a map HERE.
Sunday’s summer graduates from the Athletics Department are listed below. The five grads are added to a class of 24 December 2013 graduates and 51 May 2014 grads.
Alyssa Hibberd, Women’s Tennis, Sorell, Tasmania, Australia/Rosny College
Hibberd is a three-year letterwinner who will enter the 2014-15 season with one year of college eligibility remaining. After helping the Lady Tigers to their first-ever NCAA appearance in 2013, Hibberd will enter the 2014-15 season needing just 18 wins to tie the University of Memphis career doubles mark of 92 victories. A two-time, all-conference singles honoree and a one-time all-conference doubles honoree, Hibberd is graduating with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
James Maglasang, Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country, Paducah, Ky./St. Mary’s HS
Maglasang is a three-time, all-conference cross country performer for Memphis and also earned an all-conference track and field nod as part of the distance medley relay team in the indoor track and field season. He is graduating with a degree in biomedical engineering.
Kimi Jennings, Women’s Track & Field , Munford, Tenn./Brighton HS
Jennings graduates from the University of Memphis with a degree in sport & leisure commerce after spending three seasons as a member of the track and field program. Jennings competes in the high jump for the Tigers and was honored earlier this spring by the Health and Sport Sciences faculty.
Libby Goranson, Softball, Southaven, Miss./DeSoto Central HS
Goranson was a four-year letterwinner for the Tiger softball program, playing in 119 career games with 58 starts. She batted in 30 RBIs during her Memphis career. She made 18 starts at either first base or designated player for Memphis as a senior. She is graduating with a degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminology & Criminal Justice.
Christabel Oduro, Women’s Soccer, Brampton, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School
Oduro was a four-year letterwinner for the Lady Tigers’ soccer team, earning first-team all-conference honors three times in her career. She led the American Athletic Conference in scoring and broke the Memphis record for both goals scored and total points as part of her senior season. She was called up to the Canada Women’s National Team three times in her career. She is graduating with a degree in Sport & Leisure Management.
