Coordinator of Game and Facility Operations
Dan McGarry, a two-time alumnus of the University of Memphis, was named Coordinator of Game and Facility Operations in June of 2013.
McGarry serves as the manager-on-duty for assigned home athletic events across baseball, women’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, softball and volleyball. He handles all game day planning and activities associated with the assigned event. McGarry also acts as the primary contact for visiting teams and game officials. He manages daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep for the Elma Roane Fieldhouse and acts as the facilities contact for athletic needs in this building.
Prior to being named to his current role, he served as a graduate assistant and intern with the University of Memphis assisting with game operations duties. In these roles, McGarry acted as the Assistant Tournament Manager during the 2011 Conference USA Women’s Soccer Championship and the 2011 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament first, second, and third round.
McGarry continues to bring to Memphis experience with conference and NCAA championship events. In 2014, McGarry acted as the Tournament Manager for the University of Memphis during the American Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championship and the Assistant Tournament Manager during the NCAA Men’s Basketball South Regional. Both tournaments were hosted at the FedExForum.
McGarry, a native of York, Pennsylvania, came to Memphis in 2007 to pursue his undergraduate degree, which he received in 2010. He then continued his education at the University of Memphis, receiving his master’s in Sport and Leisure Commerce in May, 2013.
