Stacy Martin

Position:
Senior Associate Athletic Director

Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance and Business Administration

Stacy Martin joined the University of Memphis in September of 2012 after serving the previous two and a half years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business at Kansas State University. She will serve as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance and Business Operations. The newly-created, hybrid position will report to the athletics director as well as the University's vice-president for business and finance.

"Stacy Martin is one of the most well-respected business professionals in college athletics," said Memphis Athletics Director Tom Bowen. "Her financial management skills are beyond reproach and she has aided in streamlining the budgetary process at San Jose State, as well as Kansas State."

"She was an invaluable administrator for my staff at San Jose State and I am pleased that Stacy has elected to join our staff at Memphis. She will be a tremendous asset to our Tigers programs."

Martin, who served as the President of the College Athletic Business Managers Association (CABMA) last year, has oversight of the Kansas State Wildcat business office and the department's $58 million budget. She also served as the sport administrator for women's basketball and is the liaison to third party contractors for athletic department food service and trademark licensing.

Prior to joining the staff at Kansas State, Martin served as the senior associate athletics director/chief operations officer and Senior Women's Administrator at her alma mater, San Jose State University. For almost four years, she had fiscal oversight for the department's $20-million annual budget that included 16 sports, 28 departments and 115 employees.

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Martin began her professional career as a San Jose State ticket office employee in 2002. She moved to the business office in 2003 and was promoted to Athletics Business Manager in 2004. Martin took over the duties as associate athletic director in 2006. Her leadership in the SJSU business office resulted in an athletic department surplus for four consecutive years.

In her duties as San Jose State's senior associate athletics director, Martin oversaw football scheduling, all financial operations, and was the sport administrator for baseball, women's basketball, women's gymnastics and volleyball. In 2009, she was named the West Region Administrator of the Year by the women's gymnastics coaches in the Pacific and Mountain Time zones.

Martin holds memberships in the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA), Beta Gamma Sigma (International Honor society for studies in Business), Women in Sports Careers (WSC), National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA) and the Golden Key International Honor Society.

A gifted athlete, Martin was a four-year letterwinner and former captain of the SJSU women's gymnastics team. The 2002 Spartan graduate majored in business administration and corporate financial management and also earned an MBA from SJSU in finance in 2005.
