Natasha Platt, MS, ATC, LAT, joined the Memphis athletic department midway through the 2004-05 women's basketball season. In addition to her duties with women's basketball, she also works with the volleyball and football programs.

Platt spent 2003-04 as an assistant athletic trainer at Alabama State University, where she assisted in the daily operations of the athletic training office and also oversaw the athletic training students. Platt joined the staff at Alabama State after spending two years as a graduate assistant trainer at Southern Miss, where she completed her master's degree in sports administration in 2003.

Platt has spent extensive time in the Memphis area working in the athletic training field. She was a student athletic trainer under former Head Athletic Trainer Eddie Cantler, from 1998-2000, before interning with Dr. David Sisk at Baptist Sports Medicine in the spring of 2000. She also served as a physical therapy technician with Ellen Curry at Physiotherapy Associates for the spring of 2001.

In 1999, Platt served a summer internship in the Athletic Training area with the Detroit Shock in the WNBA.

From Memphis, it was on to Olive Branch, Miss., where Platt spent a year as a personal trainer at the Desoto Athletic Club before deciding to return to graduate school for her master's degree. At Southern Miss, Platt was the athletic trainer for the women's soccer program before being hired at Alabama State.
