Denise Thompson joins the University of Memphis Athletic Media Relations Staff as an intern for the 2007-08 school year. She will be responsible for women's soccer and men's and women's cross country and track and field programs.
A 2007 graduate of Farleigh Dickinson University, Thompson interned in the FDU sports information department as a junior year and returned to the staff as a student worker in her senior year. Thompson provided support for 19 NCAA Division I men's and women's sports programs. While at FDU she wrote for the school newspaper and magazine, while contributing to the writing and editing of media guides, press releases, game programs, and player and coach profiles. She was in charge of the weekly Fairleigh Dickinson University Athlete of the Week website publication.
While at FDU, Thompson was a four-year letterwinner and co-captain for the FDU Women's Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Thompson was a member of the Dean's List, Northeast Conference Honor Roll and vice-president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She graduated in May 2007 with a bachelor's degree in communication.
