Morton, a junior, shot a career-high 573 at the NCAA Qualifier in February. He also shot 571 both at the Tiger Spring Open and at the Great American Rifle Conference Championships. Other scores included a 563 against North Carolina State and a 561 at UT-Martin.
Morton, the Burlington, Wash. native, had several improving air rifle scores to help the Tigers. Morton shot a season-high 570, good for 20th overall, at the Memphis Open to start the year. He also shot a 569 at the Tiger Spring Open, good enough for a top ten finish. Morton also added a 566 at North Carolina State.
Was a two-year letterwinner in air rifle at Burlington-Edison High School...His team won championships in 2006-2007 with three first-place finishes and one second-place finish...Was coached by Chief Roger Hull...Was also active in NJROTC in high school.
