JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Of the five teams competing, Memphis rifle finished second recently at the Jacksonville State University (Ala.) Invitational. The Tigers finished with a score of 4,567 behind only that of Murray State's 4,596.

Rustin Russell had Memphis' highest score in smallbore with a 568. Kelly Audet and Kaitlynn Lee weren't far behind with 563's, and Jenna Quick shot a 562. Keegan Singleton had a 560, while Jessica Phenis and Greg Morton both shot 549's. Several of Memphis' shooters weren't on squad for team competition, and were shooting individually.

Jacksonville State's Brian Carstensen shot a 579 in smallbore to lead all shooters in the event. Carstensen also led all shooters in air rifle with a 586.

Audet's 584 and Lee's 583 led Memphis, and gave the Tigers two of the top five scores overall in air rifle. Singleton's 575 and Phenis' 572 were the next high scores for the Tigers. Quick shot a 569, Russell a 563, and Morton a 543.

This was Memphis' final rifle event prior to Christmas holidays.
