JACKSONVILLE, AL - The University of Memphis rifle team shot a new program record Sunday on the road, upending the No. 4 ranked Jacksonville State Gamecocks 4668-4651 for the most notable win in program history.

Led by the shooting of sophomore Elizabeth Lee, who posted new personal bests in smallbore (582) and air rifle (593), Memphis also added a new program record smallbore score to the weekend's accolades.

Hermsmeier followed Lee's lead in air rifle, also posting a 593.

Jacksonville state claimed the the next six high air scores while Amy Fister (579), Max Burkhardt (576), Nate Brandeburg (567), and Jimmy Zaken (555) closed out the ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th place spots.

The Tigers dominated the smallbore competition with Amy Fister continuing her already stellar freshman campaign, claiming the top score with a 584. Senior Dan Hermsmeier followed Fister by a single shot with a 583 and the second best score of the day.

Junior Max Burkhardt recorded a perfect 200 in the prone position en route to his 578 and a tie for the fifth best smallbore score. Senior Jimmy Zaken also had a record day, recording his personal best with a 565, helping the Tigers to their program record 2327 smallbore mark.

The Tigers look to continue their momentum on Wednesday when the get set to host Conference rival Ole Miss at Rangemaster.
