OXFORD, Miss. - Despite some strong individual showings, Memphis Rifle fell to area rival Ole Miss Feb. 3 by an aggregate score of 4,592-4,536. The meet was Memphis' final tune-up prior to their NCAA Rifle Championship Qualifying meet, which will also be in Oxford on Feb. 13.

In air rifle, Ole Miss shot 2,315, compared to Memphis' 2,308. In smallbore competition, Ole Miss registered a 2,277, which bested Memphis' 2,228.

Kelly Audet continued her strong freshman season, shooting a combined 1,136 in both events. Kaitlynn Lee shot a 1,131 in both events combined, and Keegan Singleton, a senior, shot a 1,130 as the only other member of the Tiger squad to shoot in both events.

Rustin Russell competed in smallbore posting a 557, while Jessica Phenis posted a team-high 582 in air rifle. Phenis' 582 was tied for second overall, only behind Ole Miss' Keely Stankey, who shot a 585.

Several Tigers did shoot as individuals in events they weren't competing as team members in. Russell shot a 566 in air rifle, while Amelia Stacey shot a 549. Phenis shot a 556 in air rifle.
