OXFORD, Miss. - The University of Memphis Rifle Team failed to qualify for the NCAA Rifle Championships, to be held March 12, this past weekend shooting a composite score of 4,530 at the NCAA Qualifier at Ole Miss.

The score was one of Memphis' lowest of the season, though several individuals did have competitive days.

Smallbore shooting proved to be the Tigers' biggest problem. Keegan Singleton shot a 565 to lead Memphis' team shooters, while Kelly Audet shot a 561, Jessica Phenis a 551, and Rustin Russell a 550. The total team score in smallbore was 2,227. Jenna Quick, shooting as an individual, posted the third-highest overall score in smallbore with a 569, while Kaitlynn Lee shot a 560.

In air rifle, Lee was the fourth-highest shooter overall with a 581. Phenis added a 577, Singleton a 576, and Audet a 569. Shooting as individuals, Greg Morton registered a 573, and Quick shot a 559.

While all individual qualifiers won't be known until Feb. 22, none of the Tigers' scores appear that they'll be high enough for NCAA Championship qualification.

Memphis returns to action, once again in Oxford, all of this weekend for the Great American Rifle Conference Championships. The team will shoot at Ole Miss Friday-Sunday.
