The University of Memphis rifle team finished third at the sectional at Murray State, Sunday. Memphis finished behind Kentucky (4674) and Murray State (4669) with a 4612.

Krissey Bahnsen led Memphis in the air portion of the competition, shooting a 585, good enough for ninth overall. Teammate Jessica Jasis finished 13th with a 580, while Brian Phillips and Kate Benjamin finished 15th and 16th in the air at 578. Andrew Hahn rounded out the Memphis shooters with a 576.

In the smallbore portion of the competition, Benjamin posted the Tigers' highest individual score, firing a 581, good enough for seventh in the individual competition. Jasis fired a 574 while competing as an individual shooter, and Phillips and Hahn each fired 572s as part of the team score. Bahnsen rounded out the Memphis competitors with a 568 in the smallbore.

The rifle team will compete in the GARC Conference Championships in Oxford, Miss., Feb.25-26th.
