OXFORD, Miss.—The University of Memphis rifle team posted an aggregate team score of 4,547 to land in seventh place at the 2010 Ole Miss Invitational.

The Tigers finished sixth in team smallbore with a score of 2,257. Newcomer Linn Larsen led the way with a 571 to finish 16th individually. She was followed by Kelly Audet, who finished 24th with a score of 566. Freshman Dan Hermsmeier posted a score of 564 and picked up a 28th place showing. With smallbore scores of 556, Kaitlyn Lee and Jessica Phenis finished 38th and 39th, respectively.

TCU was paced by smallbore individual champion Sarah Bear’s 585 aggregate and placed first with a team score of 2,321. Columbus State (2,302) beat out Murray State (2,301) by one point for runners-up honors.

Memphis placed seventh in team air rifle with an aggregate team score of 2,290, paced by Kelly Audet’s (580) 22nd place individual finish. Linn Larsen was 30th individually with a score of 576. Dan Hermsmeir and Jessica Phenis both finished with totals of 567 and Greg Morton scored a 563.

TCU claimed the team air rifle section to complete the sweep as the Horned Frogs took the overall championship over Murray State 4,676-4,640. Columbus State finished third with a 4,638.
