MEMPHIS, Tenn. - For the second straight season the Memphis Rifle Team opened up with a win at the Tiger Invitational against Ole Miss, out-dueling the Rebels with a 4,504-4,472 aggregate score.
Memphis, the overall Air Rifle winners, out-shot the Rebels 2,310-2,290. Freshman Kelly Audet led Memphis' overall score in Air Rifle with a 581, including two 99s, to finish fourth individually. Senior standout Keegan Singleton shot a 578, Kaitlynn Lee shot a 577, and Jenna Quick a 574. Memphis' Jessica Phenis, shooting as an individual, shot a 584, good enough for third overall.
Memphis tied with Columbus State in overall Air Rifle scoring, but won the tiebreak 387-386. Columbus State's Jonathan Hall led all shooters with a 589 in air rifle.
They also scored higher in Smallbore 2,194-2,182. Singleton paced Memphis with a score of 559, while Audent scored 557, Jessica Phenis 550, and Rustin Russell 528. Quick also registered a 550 for Memphis, shooting as an individual, while Lee shot a 535. Ole Miss' Meredith Holman shot the second-highest score in Smallbore with a 558.
