OXFORD, Miss. - The University of Memphis Rifle Team followed up its first place finish in the Tiger Open with another strong fourth place aggregate (4555) performance at the Ole Miss Invitational.

Memphis finished fourth out of 14 teams in a strong field of air rifle teams with a score of 2307, 39 points shy of first place TCU. They also finished fifth as a team in Smallbore shooting with a score of 2260, 35 points behind TCU.

Freshman Kelly Audet, an Omaha, Neb. native, continued a hot start to her season with a 581 in air rifle, while Kaiylynn Lee scored 577, Keegan Singleton 576, and Jessica Phenis a 573 for the Tigers. While their scores didn't count in team competition, Memphis had several other shooters: Rustin Russell shot a 569, Alex Watson a 566, Amelia Stacey a 565, Jenna Quick a 564, and Anna Walters a 512.

In Smallbore, Jenna Quick led Memphis with a 565, Jessica Phenis had a 562, Keegan Singleton had a 561, and Kelly Audet finished with a 560 in team shooting. Alex Watson shot individually, and scored 559.

Memphis would return to action against Kentucky and N.C. State three weeks later in Lexington, Ky., home of last year's national runner-ups.
