COLUMBUS, Ga. – The University of Memphis rifle team claimed first-place overall finishes in both smallbore and air rifle disciplines, in their match with North Georgia College and State University and Columbus State on Nov. 19.

The Tigers shot a team tally of 2277 in the smallbore discipline. Sophomore Dan Hermsmeier paced the squad’s efforts with a mark of 574. Hermsmeier was closely trailed by teammates Linn Larsen (572) and Kaitlynn Lee (567).

In air rifle, the Tigers shot a combined 2320. Hermsmeier, a Chesterfield, Mo., native fired a team-high 587 and was trailed by junior Kelly Audet (584) and senior Kaitlynn Lee (576), while senior Jessica Phenis marked a 573 performance.
