JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Despite a tournament-high team score of 2336 in the air rifle portion of the Jacksonville State tournament, the Memphis rifle team finished second behind host Jacksonville State. JSU won the tournament with an aggregate score of 4659, while the Tigers finished second with a 4623.

In the smallbore portion of the event, Memphis shot a 2287, with Brian Phillips and Katie Benjamin each firing a 573, while Krissey Bahnsen shot a 572. Andrew Hahn rounded out the four scores with a 569.

The team posted the highest total score in the air rifle portion of the event coming off the air rifle event win at Birmingham Southern tournament earlier in the month. Bahnsen and Benjamin each fired a 587, while Jessica Jasis shot a 583. Andrew Hahn fired a 579 to give the Tigers the team-high total of 2336.
