Hermsmeier Qualifies for NCAA Rifle Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- For the second time in his young career, sophomore Dan Hermsmeier has been selected as an individual participant in the National Collegiate Men's and Women's Rifle Championships, March 9-10. A total of 48 competitors were selected for the championships--40 from the top-eight teams and eight individuals, including Hermsmeier. Hermsmeier, a 2011 second-team All-America selection, qualified for individual smallbore competition. The Chesterfield, Mo., native recently rifled a season-high 585 smallbore score to help Memphis to a 2289-2282 smallbore discipline victory over rival Ole Miss. Hermsmeier will be competing against Dani Foster (NC State), Katie Fretts (Kentucky) and Amanda Furrer (Ohio State) in the smallbore championship. Hosted by The Ohio State University, the championships will be held at Converse Hall and French Field House on the campus of Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
