Hermsmeier Set to Compete in NCAA Rifle Championships on Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio - After arriving in Columbus on Wednesday and putting in two days of practice, junior Dan Hermsmeier is ready for day one of his third consecutive NCAA Rifle Championships.
Hermsmeier, two-time Smallbore All-American, will compete in his first NCAA Championship Air Rifle competition.
Individual and team competitions in air rifle (60 shots) will be held Saturday, March 9, in French Field House on the Ohio State University campus.
A total of 48 competitors will compete in the championships, with 40 competitors coming from team rosters submitted by the eight teams. The remaining eight competitors were selected based on the scores submitted from the designated qualifiers.
Hermsmeier stepped it up in Air Rifle this season, shooting a personal best and Memphis program record 595 at the Withrow Invitational on Jan. 27.
Hermsmeier had four top finishes in Air and six in Smallbore during the 12-13 regular season along with five top five in Air and four top five in Smallbore.
