FT. BENNING, GA. - University of Memphis sophomore Beth Tidmore is currently participating in a three-day event here to secure one of two open spots on the U.S. Olympic Rifle team.

After the first day of qualifying, Tidmore is ranked 10th out of 34 shooters after totaling a score of 390 out of a possible 400. The current leading mark is a score of 396.

"I am really proud of Beth and the national exposure that she continues to bring our program," said head coach Butch Woolbright. "She still has a shot at achieving her Olympic aspirations with two more days of shooting remaining."
