MEMPHIS, TENN. - In just one year with the University of Memphis rifle squad, Beth Tidmore has become one of the most decorated shooters in the 11-year history of the program.

Tidmore, who just completed her freshman year at The U of M, won the bronze medal at the USA Shooting National Championship at Ft. Benning, Ga. With this finish, Tidmore was promoted from the developmental team to the National team, and will have the opportunity to shoot in the World Cup.

One of four shooters chosen to the National team, Tidmore is the No. 3 female shooter in the country, and is ranked as the second-leading Junior Olympic shooter in the United States.

This past April, Tidmore won the 2003 National Junior Olympic Championship Women's Air Rifle competition at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. A native of Decatur, Ga., she defeated 91 competitors from all over the United States.
