MEMPHIS, TENN. - The University of Memphis Rifle Team begins the 2009-2010 season Saturday when it hosts the Tiger Open at Range Master.

Tiger Rifle won both events held at Range Master in the 2008-2009 season. In 2008-09, the team never finished lower than third place in any tournament. With the exception of graduated senior Andrew Hahn, the entire 2008-09 team returns to compete for Memphis in 2009-10.

Keegan Singleton and Britton Watson are the two seniors on this year's team, which also consists of four juniors: Amelia Stacey, Luke Ryerkerk, Rustin Russell, and Greg Morton. Sophomores Jessica Phenis and Jenna Quick also return, while freshmen Kelly Audet and Anna Walters round out the squad.

Coach Butch Woolbright will be entering his 18th year as the Tigers' Rifle Coach. He is assisted by John Dowdy.

The Tigers edged out area rival Ole Miss in last year's competition. Those two schools will face each other head-to-head Thursday, Oct. 1 around 5 p.m. Shooting action in the Tiger Open will go on until Oct. 4.
