Tiger Rifle Takes Third at Columbus State

COLUMBUS, Ga.– The University of Memphis rifle team claimed third-place overall finishes in both smallbore and air rifle disciplines, in their match with North Georgia College and State University and Columbus State on Nov. 19. The Tigers shot 2277 in the smallbore discipline, with true freshman Max Burkhardt, who was competing as an individual, pacing the squad’s efforts with a mark of 553. Burkhardt was closely trailed by teammates Kelly Audet (561) and Rustin Russell (563). In air rifle, the Tigers shot a combined 2320. Sophomore Linn Larsen shot a team-low 567, while senior Jessica Phenis marked a 573. North Georgia College and State University finished first in both disciplines (2156-smallbore and 2248-air rifle).
