Prep A three-year letterwinner as an outfielder and first baseman for former Tigers Lane McCarter and Collins Day at Houston High School...Led Houston to a 33-13 record and a runner-up finish in the Tennessee State Tournament in 2010...Was invited to play in the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association (TBCA) Showcase after a breakout junior season in 2010...Hit .389 and led the Mustangs with 10 home runs, 42 RBI, 52 runs scored and 95 total bases...Legged out 10 doubles and stole 24 bases en route to being named a 2010 Commercial Appeal Best of Preps finalist...Earned Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) All-Metro and Class AAA All-State accolades, as well as TBCA All-Region and All-State first team honors...A standout multi-sport athlete at Houston High, Carter was a three-year letterman at wide receiver on the Mustangs football team...Scored five touchdowns and averaged over 30 yards per catch on his way to All-District 15-AAA first team honors...
