Shawn Fayard enters his second season as a graduate assistant trainer with Tiger baseball. In addition to baseball, Fayard works as the primary graduate assistant trainer with the Tiger football team, as well as assisting with other sports as needed.
A native of Waveland, Miss., Fayard received his undergraduate degree in athletic training from the University of Southern Mississippi in the fall of 2005. While at USM he served as the primary student trainer for the Golden Eagles baseball and football teams, and assisted with basketball and cross country.
Fayard, who is slated to receive his master's degree in sport and liesure commerce in 2008, has also completed a pair of summer internships with the NFL's Washington Redskins.
