Primarily a backup catcher during his playing days, Sain will work closely with pitching coach Fred Corral and the Tiger catchers throughout the season. Sain earned three starts in the 2008 season and hit .077 in 10 games played. In 2007, Sain hit .333 in three games played and had a double. Sain was a four-year letterwinner in his prep career at Bolivar Central High School. The three-year starting catcher earned All-District, All-Region and All-West Tennessee honors in the 2005 season. Sain hit .440 with five home runs and 30 RBI in his senior campaign. He also collected a record 29-game hit streak in high school.
