100 Years of Tiger Baseball

Yesterday, GoTigersGo.com began a 100 day countdown to first pitch of the 2013 season, the 100th year of University of Memphis Baseball.

Head Coach Daron Schoenrock sat down with the Memphis Tiger Network to talk about the 100 year celebration and countdown.

Made 17 appearances including three starts ... Had 26 strikeouts in 27 innings of work and opponents hit .284 against him ... Finished with a 2-2 record and a 5.33 ERA ... Allowed no runs or hits in relief outing against Kennesaw State (2/25) ... Started at Middle Tennessee (3/28) and pitched three innings and allowed one run on two hits to earn the win ... Allowed one hit in 1.2 innings of relief at Tennessee (4/4) ... Allowed no runs on one hit in 1.2 innings against UT Martin (5/15) to earn win.

Made 12 appearances in his freshman campaign, including six starts...Finished with a 6.28 ERA in 28.2 innings pitched...Recorded 20 strikeouts and held opponents to a .283 batting average...Collected his first career win, allowing no runs on six hits and four strikeouts against Saint Peter's (3/13/11)...Had one of his best outings versus Arkansas (3/22/11) in which he pitched five innings and allowed one run on two hits...Picked up his second win in relief against Alcorn State.

Was a four-year letterwinner for former Memphis head coach, Jeff Hopkins at Collierville High...Named All-Shelby/Metro and TBCA All-Region in 2010...Helped guide the Dragons to a 37-9 mark and a District championship in 2010...Was sidelined by a season-ending back injury in 2009...Was chosen to pitch for the 2009 Tennessee Jr. Sunbelt team and in the TBCA Showcase, but was unable to perform due to the back injury.

Son of head coach Daron Schoenrock and Carol Schoenrock...Has one brother, Bret...Undecided on a major.
