Darrell Smith begins his fourth season as a manager with the University of Memphis baseball team. The 2011season marks Smith's second as the club's head manager.
As a team manager, Smith's primary responsibilities are to handle the day-to-day and game day equipment needs of players and the coaching staff at FedExPark and on the road. In addition, Smith will assist in a variety of practice duties. Smith also travels with the team and coordinates all team laundry.
A senior graphic design major, Smith is a native of Long Beach, Calif. The son of Rosa and Mack Dean, Smith is a graduate of Cordova High School. He has six siblings--four sisters and two brothers.
