"I am thrilled to have a former Tiger on our coaching staff," said Schoenrock. "Zach was well-respected by his teammates for his work ethic, passion and knowledge of the game. This is the first step in what I feel will be a brilliant coaching career. He is a great addition to our staff." Clark has spent the previous three summers as an assistant for the Bartlett High School summer team. In his first season as an assistant, Clark oversaw the infield defense for the Tigers that committed just 35 errors over 57 games. The 2011 squad set a school record with a .977 fielding percentage. Coming from a coaching background, Clark brings a wealth of knowledge to the Tiger coaching staff. Prior to returning to his alma mater, Clark served as the head coach for the 10-year old Memphis Tigers. His father Phil, a TBCA and M-Club Hall of Famer, is one of the most prominent coaches in the State of Tennessee with 12 state championship appearance, five state titles and one national championship. Phil lettered at Memphis from 1977-78. Zach Clark saw action as a reserve in 22 games as a Tiger. He scored four runs and earned three walks. The Bartlett, Tenn., native received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Memphis in May, 2009.
