MEMPHIS, Tenn. - After suffering a tough home-opening loss to Ole Miss on Tuesday, the Tigers bounced back to end a four-game losing streak with a 9-1 win over Southeastern Missouri at AutoZone Park tonight.

Senior lefthander Ryan O'Malley (2-0) gave up just one hit and struck out five in 5.2 innings for his second win of the season. O'Malley surrendered his first walk of the season to Indian third baseman Denver Stuckey in the third inning, snapping a streak of 13 innings without issuing a free pass.

The Tigers drew blood early, pushing two runs across in the first inning on an RBI double by senior catcher Barrett Smith and an RBI single by senior first baseman Jay Fik.

Senior centerfielder Paul Reuer capped a three-run third with a two-run single to center field. The Tigers went scoreless until the bottom of the eighth, when they tacked on four insurance runs for a 9-1 final.

Junior reliever Nick Rogers scattered two hits and surrendered the Indians' lone run while striking out one over 2.1. Junior right-hander Josh Cartwright fired a hitless ninth to wrap-up the win.

Reuer finished the day 3-for-4 with three RBI and Smith and Fik each had two hits, a run scored and one RBI.

The Tigers are back in action tomorrow when they take on Southeastern Missouri at AutoZone Park at 2 p.m.
