Box Score

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Tiger baseball dropped its third-straight, 8-4 to Middle Tennessee State, at AutoZone Park on Tuesday.

The Tigers gave up six hits and committed three errors in the first two innings to help the Blue Raiders establish a comfortable 5-1 lead and MTSU never looked back. The Raiders added a run in the fourth and two more in the top of the ninth.

Junior first baseman Andy Gesell drove-in sophomore third baseman Kyle Scott to open the Tiger scoring in the bottom of the first. Solo home runs by freshmen Ryan Martin and Brent Dlugach and an RBI double from Scott accounted for the remainder of the Tiger scoring.

Scott, Dlugach and Gesell each were 2-for-5 to pace the Tiger offense. Senior right-hander Nick Steht scattered three hits and allowed two runs (one earned) over four solid innings of relief.

The Tigers are back in action tomorrow when they wrap-up a two-game series with Middle Tennessee State at AutoZone Park at 2 p.m.
