DALLAS, Texas - Junior catcher Phillip Chapman's RBI-double to left proved to be the game-winner in a 9-8 win in game one, but the Tigers squandered a seven-run lead in the eighth to fall 10-9 in the nightcap. Memphis dropped the three-game series versus Dallas Baptist, 2-1.

The series finale was one of late-game heroics for Dallas Baptist. Memphis led 9-2 going into the eighth inning, but the Patriots offense woke up. Highlighted by back-to-back homers from Duncan McAlpine and Ryan Enos, DBU got back into the game, 9-6, with a four-run eighth.

Enos and the Patriots weren't done there. Down to its final out and two runners aboard, Enos struck again. This time he clubbed a three-run shot over the centerfield wall to tie the game at 9-all.

DBU's Austin Elkins ended it in the 10th with a game-winning single.

Game one was much like the second; with Memphis taking an 8-4 lead into the bottom of the seventh, only to see Dallas Baptist battle back to tie the contest at 8-8 with a run in the seventh and three in eighth.

Memphis' offense banged out 12 or more hits in both games, but none more important than Chapman's double off the leftfield wall that scored Jacob Wilson with the go-ahead run to make it 9-8.

Freshman pitcher Dan Langfield then retired the side in the ninth to pick up the win.
