Back-to-back home runs by Zack Cozart and Cody Overbeck highlighted a three-run third inning and ignited a string of five consecutive innings in which No. 13 Ole Miss scored a run as the Rebels cruised to a 10-2 victory over Memphis Wednesday evening at AutoZone Park.

Ole Miss starter Brett Bukvich controlled the Tiger offense in a solid five inning effort. The Rebel southpaw held Memphis to just four hits and one run while striking out five. He was followed by Jesse Simpson, Scott Bittle and Craig Rodriguez, who all kept the Tigers off the board in a combined three innings. Justin Cryder gave up a run in the ninth.

Ole Miss got on the board in the third, after Justin Henry broke up Brennon Martin's no-hit bid with a single up the middle. Two batters later the Rebels were up 3-0 on the power of consecutive homers by Cozart and Overbeck.

The Rebels crossed a run in the fourth to make it 4-0, and then three more in the fifth to take a commanding 7-0 advantage. A fielding error by the Memphis defense combined with consecutive doubles by Logan Power and Zach Miller scored a pair runs for the Rebels. An RBI-single by Jordan Henry capped three run inning.

The Tigers offense got going in the fifth, as Josh Irvin led the inning off with a double over Logan Power's head in centerfield. He advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sac fly by K.K. Chalmers.

Ole Miss answered with two more tallies in the top of the sixth and another in the seventh to surge ahead 10-1.

Chalmers tucked an RBI-single inside the third base line to score Tyler Huelsing in the ninth for the 10-2 final.

Led by Miller's three hits, Ole Miss pounded out 14 hits in its seventh consecutive victory over Memphis. Jordan Henry and Evan Button also posted a pair of hits.

Memphis got three base knocks from Irvin, and two from Michael Murray. The Tigers managed only seven hits in the contest.

The Tigers is in action next when they host UCF in a Conference USA weekend, beginning Fri., May 4. First pitch for the series opener is set for 6:30 at Nat Buring Stadium.
