Baseball Announces 2011 Meet The Tigers Banquet

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis baseball program and head coach Daron Schoenrock will host the Meet the Tigers Banquet February 19 in the FedExPark indoor facility on the Park Avenue Campus. Festivities are slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
This year's event takes place in the midst of opening weekend at FedExPark, in which the Tigers host the Evansville Purple Aces for a three-game slate. After the home and season opener on Friday, February 18 at 4 p.m., the Tigers take the field at 2 p.m. on Saturday before heading inside for the Meet the Tigers Banquet. Sunday's series finale is schedule for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
The banquet is scheduled to include comments by Schoenrock, an introduction of the 2011 roster, and highlighting the evening will be keynote speaker Kyle Rote Jr.
Rote, selected one of the 10 most outstanding young people in the world in 1985, has spoken for three U.S. Presidents and Prince Phillip in London. A hall of fame soccer player, Rote was the first American born player to win the North American Soccer League's scoring title and he played for the U.S. National Team for four years. He spent 26 years as a sports agent and founded Athletic Resource Management in Memphis before retiring as CEO. Rote is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) as a popular speaker and a multi-term member of the Board of Trustees.
