University of Memphis Athletic Director R.C. Johnson has announced that a groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 18th at 2 p.m. at Memphis' Park Avenue Campus which will officially mark the start of construction of FedExPark, a baseball stadium renovation project that will add a new press box and suites, a new baseball clubhouse, new dugouts, new concession stands and new restroom facilities to the Tigers' current home field.

Construction setup began on Monday, February 16, with the project slated for completion by the spring of 2010. The Tigers will play homes game at USA Stadium in Millington and at AutoZone Park this spring.

"FedEx has assisted us with a multitude of athletic projects and we want to express our deepest appreciation," Johnson stated. "This organization continues to be a benefactor not only to the University but to the City of Memphis and the entire Mid-South."
