Bill Moss Named Conference USA Co-Hitter of the Week

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Senior second baseman Bill Moss was tabbed Conference USA's Co-Hitter of the Week as announced by the Conference office. Moss, who hit .500 with three round trippers shares the honor with Tulane sophomore Nate Simon.
Moss erupted for a very productive week, going 8-for-16 and slugging an impressive 1.125. He led Memphis to a perfect 4-0 record and the AutoZone Classic title this week. To go with his team-high three homers, Moss added a team-best five RBI and three runs scored to help the Tigers extend their win streak to seven games. He posted multiple hits and homered in three of the four contests, including recording three hits against UT-Martin and Indiana. The CBHS product hit .417 and blasted home runs in consecutive games to garner AutoZone Classic MVP honors.
Moss, who led Memphis with 24 doubles and tied for the team lead with 85 hits in 2006, is ranked in the top-10 all-time at Memphis in both categories. He leads the 2007 Tigers in batting average (.438), slugging percentage (.844), hits (14), doubles (4), home runs (3) and RBI (6).
The senior will lead Memphis into a tough five-game road swing beginning on Tues., Mar. 6 at Samford, and ending with a three-game set at Clemson.
