PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Memphis junior southpaw Caleb Wallingford was tabbed the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Wallingford tossed seven shutout innings on Friday at No. 15 Houston, leading the Tigers to their third victory over a ranked opponent on the year. Wallingford allowed four hits over the seven framed and walked two while striking out six. The Elkhorn, Neb. native had three runners advance to scoring position in the game, none passing second base as he stranded them all.

Wallingford is scheduled for his fourth start against a ranked opponent this weekend as the Tigers travel to Louisville for the three-game conference series. Wallingford is 4-1 on the season with a 0.43 ERA. Wallingford has allowed six runs, two earned, over 41.2 innings while striking out 40.
