RHP Dylan Toscano suffered his second loss of the season last Wednesday against Austin Peay. Toscano threw a season-high 7.0 innings, giving up five hits, four runs - three earned, and two walks while striking out four.

• Memphis is in its 101st year of baseball with a record of 1705-1294-16. 
• Ironman SS Ethan Gross has started in a program-record 189 consecutive games. 
• Memphis leads Arkansas State in the series 57-29 dating back to 1978, but the Red Wolves have won seven of the last 10 meetings.

SCOUTING THE RED WOLVES

• Arkansas State picked up a road series win at South Alabama over the weekend and carries a 20-16 record into Tuesday's matchup. 
• The Red Wolves are 7-9 on the road this season and travel to FedExPark having played seven of their last eight games on the road. 
• ASU is hitting .271 on the year with 65 doubles, nine triples, nine home runs and 171 RBI on 208 runs scored.  
• Matt Burgess leads the club hitting .310 with eight doubles and 36 RBI.  
• Austin Baker has six home runs and 27 RBI and is 10-of-12 on stolen base attempts.  
• On the mound, Arkansas State sports a 4.00 ERA with 243 strikeouts against 119 walks in 326 innings. The staff has allowed 162 runs, 145 earned, on 321 hits and opponents hit .258 against.

APPEARANCE RECORD?

• Freshman RHP Nolan Blackwood is on pace to set the single-season record for appearances.  
• The freshman arm has appeared in 21 games, tying him for sixth in the single-season ranks.  
• Jonathan Van Eaton holds the single-season record after making 30 appearances in 2012.

BEELER TIME

• Junior RHP/UT Bryce Beeler continues to impress on the mound.  
• Beeler had not pitched at the U of M in his first two seasons, but he caught the eye of pitching coach Russ McNickle this fall and got a chance on the mound.  
•  Beeler is 2-1 with seven saves and has a 2.61 ERA in 20.2 innings of work to go with 25 strikeouts.  
•  At the plate, Beeler is hitting .256 with three doubles and six RBI.

RECORD PACE

• The Tigers have 12 saves on the season, chasing the record of 19 set a season ago.  
• In the record setting 2013 season for saves, Memphis posted its 12th save on April 15 in game No. 37.  
• Since saves appeared in the yearly stats in 1977, the Tigers have matched or bettered the season total of 30 clubs.
