Memphis, Tenn. - University of Memphis righthander Derek Hankins earned his third Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honor in an announcement made by the league office Monday. Hankins is the first Tiger in school history to garner the weekly honor three times in one season.

Hankins tossed the first complete-game shutout of his career in a 4-0 victory over No. 13 Tulane Sunday. He scattered six hits and struck out seven while walking two in the contest to become the first Tiger to blank the Green Wave in school history.

With his seven strikeouts, Hankins moved into a tie for seventh on the school's single season top 10 list. He now has 83 strikeouts in just 61.1 innings of work. He improved to 6-4 on the season with the victory.

The Tigers travel to Austin Peay Wednesday for a rescheduled non-conference game at 6:30 p.m., before traveling to Houston to face the Cougars in a three-game C-USA series this weekend beginning Friday.
