MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis baseball team will take on UT-Martin tonight in its final non-conference battle of the season. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. at Elam Stadium in Union City, Tenn. At 32-20, a Tiger win would surpass its 32-game win total from the 2006 season.

Memphis comes into the series finale on the heels of a 2-1 C-USA series loss to Houston last weekend. The Tigers dropped game one, but scored 10 runs in the seventh inning to turn a four-run deficit into a six-run lead in game two en route to a 16-10 win. The rubber game saw Memphis commit a pair of early errors as Houston jumped out to a 5-0 lead, and the Tigers never recovered in a 10-5 loss.

Michael Murray leads Conference USA's top offense with a league-best .384 average. The senior shortstop has hit safely in the last 11 games and leads the team in runs (48), hits (73) and doubles (17). He is trailed by fellow classmate Adam Amar, who hits .340 with 32 RBI. Amar put his name in the Tiger recordbooks as the program's all-time leader in RBI last week versus Arkansas State. Bill Moss and Joey Lieberman have also been key contributors for the Tiger offense. Moss hits .332, while Lieberman checks in at .308. The duo is tied for the league lead with 12 homers each.

Memphis is 28-3 all-time against UT-Martin--its best winning percentage against any opponent. Dating back to the 2001 season, the Tigers have won 12-straight against the Skyhawks. Memphis outlasted UTM for a 2-1 win in the fifth game of the season back on Feb. 27. The Tigers swept last year's season series, with a 9-7 win in the 2006 home-opener. It took Memphis 11 innings to come away with a 5-4 win at Union City the last time the two teams met at Elam Stadium.
