PEORIA, Ariz. - Former University of Memphis pitcher Brennon Martin picked up first professional win in his first career start for the Arizona League Royals, Wednesday.

Martin put together an outing that Tiger fans grew accustomed to over his four years en route to helping the Royals to a 4-2 triumph over the Arizona League Mariners. The southpaw allowed two runs on four hits and fanned six in five innings. He allowed a single run in the first inning, but retired the side in order in the second third and fifth innings.

Martin is now 1-1 on the year with 11 strikeouts in seven innings. He was tagged with the loss despite striking out five in two innings in his professional debut versus the Arizona League Padres on June 25.
